I actually already knew about Lumpy Touch from their fake "Gorefield" game. I thought it was super clever. Incidentally, when we were kids, my brother's and I made up characters who would fit into the world of Final Fantasy 1, and roleplayed them. I sometimes drew "screenshots" of our characters in a Final Fantasy game. So in a way, we were doing this 35 years ago!

Oh! The appeal is Goncharov! God. The clock scene gets me everytime. What a movie. Spoilers Just, how the clocks chimes count down Goncharov's final breaths. Tolling when he dies. Ugh. Takes my own breath away everytime.

I am trying to find an obscure game that I heard about in a youtube video that someone made that was inspired by this video on fear and hunger. I cannot find it for the life of me. Seemed like it was some knowledge based game with a black and white pixel rpg style where you had to go up or down a tower or put and every floor was a puzzle. And once you ran out of lives you had to start over from the beginning but I think there was some demon who offered you a fruit to continue at the cost of your humanity or something, idk. Anyone know what I am talking about?

I have chronic illness, and I found this video during a RUclips binge session while struggling through a really bad flare up. Sometimes when you're wrapped up in the cycle of pain it can feel like a scary and lonely place. Like you said, however, despite feeling like it may never end there is a genuine sense of comfort that this is only temporary, and the space between can either be filled with fear or with hope. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. It helped my transitional period between pain and relief a little easier.

I just watched a play through of undertale for the first time, never knowing anything abt the game thankfully, and then watching this video. My first time was great, in fact I loved the game so very much, I understood why is was so beloved, but also how crazy it was that some guy made this game, and it became so insanely popular that even he couldn’t understand it. And it goes back to her 37:06…. I’m glad I never experienced the game before, because I would have a warped view of it and its original intent and message.

I love liminal spaces. There are games made with liminal spaces. I hate them, most of the time. They add monsters or SCP, and that ruins the entire thing, I feel like. I want to explore an infinite liminal space, at my own leisure, just to unwind. Because it is calming. And there is that bit of interest in, is it all the same? Where does that staircase lead? It's the inherent curiosity about these surroundings, without the pressure of other people watching or judging, or stopping you from exploring and wandering.

A lot of classic horror movies, like nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13th, have substantial budget limits for their special effects. Despite that, they made some of the best special effects for horror movies that hold up today.

I think you nailed it there: Making an actual game is VERY hard. Fake games like the ones you discussed allow you to explore the medium without having to commit to the entire process.

This was the very first video I saw about f&h, and I genuinily felt like you my first runs, overwhelmed and yet intrigued about the game, now Im playin termina and Im loving it, thanks for sharing

Not a wrestling fan but somehow every roommate I had in college was, so I saw the shield story happening on live TV for awhile. Cool to see how it got warped and twisted. What you describe, about the real time twists of the narrative sounds a lot like a good d&d group where the DM and players work together to tell a story. Taking what each other say/do and weaving it all together in interesting and surprising ways. PS your videos are so good, it doesn't matter what I'm a fan of or not. I'm a fan of your videos so you'll always have me tuned in

Thank you for making this btw, its helped even a bit with getting myself out of a rut ive been stuck in. I used to design games like this and unfortunately life got to me and took that fixation it feels like. Seeing all of this has really gotten the motivation back i feel like, will get back to work soon Who knows, maybe the world doesn't need another sad girl making a video game thatll never be real.
